Learning objectives

  • Identify this example, its board class and pin limitations.

Before this introduction

The original Raspberry Pi Pico is an RP2040 microcontroller board, not a Linux Raspberry Pi computer. It runs firmware and offers GPIO, ADC inputs and PWM. GPIO logic is 3.3 V; supply pins such as VSYS serve a different purpose. Pico W and Pico 2 are different models. A microcontroller is a useful starting concept for a simple classroom light controller.

Learn only: circuit building, board simulation, firmware export and physical connection for this board are not available here.
